LEARNING ENGLISH INNOVATION IN PESANTREN: STIFIN METHOD
Abstract
This study aims to determine the English learning experience of students in the Al-Mawaddah dormitory of the foreign language development program using the STIFIn method. In its application, students will learn according to their potential base
on the learning style that suits them, so that in the learning process will avoid mistakes in applying the learning style. This research was written to provide innovation in learning, especially in English material. English learning innovation is interpreted as a new effort in learning English. In its application, this study uses the STIFIn method to determine the genetic potential of students. By using this teaching method, it will be easier to find the genetic character of each student. The process in this study will be described using the narrative inquiry method, which means the researcher will describe all conditions and the learning process that takes place. This
type of research is qualitative descriptive research that takes place in the AlMawaddah Dormitory Foreign Language Development Program. The sources of data used are primary and secondary. Data collection methods in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study explain that almost all students who apply the STIFIn method in learning feel that they are in
accordance with themselves. The application of learning innovations using STIFIn can understand students' abilities in the learning process, including how to overcome boredom in learning English.
