Authors who publish their articles in Gemeinschaft: Journal of Social and Community Engagement agree to the following copyright and publication terms:

  1. Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting Gemeinschaft: Journal of Social and Community Engagement the right of first publication. The published work is simultaneously distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) , which permits others to share, redistribute, and adapt the work, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original publication in this journal is properly acknowledged.
  2. Authors may establish separate and additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of their work. Such distribution may include depositing the article in an institutional or subject repository, sharing it through an academic platform, or incorporating it into a book or other scholarly publication, provided that the original publication in Gemeinschaft is clearly acknowledged.
  3. Authors are encouraged and permitted to make their manuscripts available online, including through institutional repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate scholarly platforms, both before and during the submission process. Such dissemination may facilitate academic discussion, increase the visibility of the research, promote knowledge exchange, and potentially enhance the accessibility and citation of the published work.

The author(s) further affirm that the manuscript does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or misleading statements; does not violate or infringe upon the intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights of any third party; and that the copyright of the submitted work is held by the author(s) without conflicting third-party claims. Where the manuscript contains copyrighted materials, quotations, figures, tables, images, or other content requiring permission, the author(s) are responsible for obtaining the necessary written authorization from the respective rights holders and providing appropriate acknowledgment.
  5. By submitting and publishing an article in Gemeinschaft: Journal of Social and Community Engagement, authors acknowledge and accept these copyright conditions and agree to comply with the applicable terms of the selected Creative Commons license.
