Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship
Journal of Research in Educational Management (JREM) recognizes authorship as an important academic responsibility that reflects substantial intellectual contributions to a research work. The journal follows the principles established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work, adapted to the context of educational and social science research.
To qualify as an author, a contributor must fulfill all of the following criteria:
- Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the research; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- Contribution to manuscript preparation, including drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;
- Final approval of the version to be published;
- Accountability for the entire work, ensuring that all aspects of the research are conducted with accuracy, integrity, and transparency, and that any concerns regarding the validity or ethical aspects of the research are appropriately addressed.
All individuals who meet the authorship criteria should be listed as authors, and individuals who do not meet these criteria should not be included as authors. Each author should be able to identify their specific contributions and acknowledge the contributions of other co-authors. Authors are expected to take collective responsibility for the integrity of the research and publication process.
Journal of Research in Educational Management (JREM) recognizes one corresponding author for each published article. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication process. The journal also recognizes authorship only for natural persons who have made genuine intellectual contributions to the research. Authorship by artificial intelligence (AI) tools or non-human entities is not permitted. Authors who use AI-based tools during the research or manuscript preparation process must disclose their use in the Acknowledgment section or according to the journal's disclosure policy.
Contributorship
Journal of Research in Educational Management (JREM) adopts the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to transparently describe individual contributions to scholarly works. CRediT provides a standardized framework consisting of contributor roles that clarify the specific contributions made by each author or collaborator.
Authors are encouraged to declare their contributions using one or more of the following roles:
- Conceptualization
Development of research ideas, formulation of research objectives, and establishment of the overall research direction. - Data Curation
Management, organization, documentation, preparation, and maintenance of research data. - Formal Analysis
Application of statistical, qualitative, computational, or other analytical techniques to analyze research data. - Funding Acquisition
Obtaining financial support or research funding for the project. - Investigation
Conducting research activities, including data collection, experiments, observations, or evidence gathering. - Methodology
Development, design, and refinement of research methods, procedures, or analytical approaches. - Project Administration
Coordination and management of research activities, including planning and implementation. - Resources
Provision of research materials, instruments, datasets, technological resources, or other necessary facilities. - Software
Development, programming, implementation, testing, or maintenance of software and computational tools used in research. - Supervision
